Bloomsburg Baseball Downs Shepherd University

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV--Jarrod Kramer (Orwigsburg/Blue Mountain) went 3-4 and scored three times and Kevin Ward (Clifton Heights/Monsignor Bonner) drove in four runs to lead Bloomsburg University to an 11-9 win over Shepherd University on Sunday on the final day of their annual spring break trip.

Trailing 2-0 in the fifth, the Huskies scored four times to take a 4-2 lead. Bloomsburg added a run in both the sixth and seventh innings, then scored three in the eighth and two more in the ninth to take an 11-3 lead. Those two runs in the ninth would prove to be the difference as the Rams scored six times in the bottom of the ninth to make the final 11-9.

Kramer had three singles in the game and scored three times, while Ward had a two-run single in the fifth, a solo homer in the seventh and drove in a run in the eighth when he reached on an error. Chris Carter (Bartonsville/ Pocono Mountain East) went the first five innings to earn the win, while Joe Crossin (Fairless Hills/Pennsbury) got the final out to earn the save.

Bloomsburg, 8-6, will play at Villanova on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.
